Ladies and gentlemen, the Universe as we know it has now been in existence for over one hundred and seventy thousand million billion years and will be ending in just a few hours. So, welcome one and all to the Restaurant at the End of the Universe!
Come on in, have one last meal, and watch through our force-shielded dome while the whole of creation explodes around you. Or take a seat at our bar and drink a toast as the universal cataclysm gathers to a stupefying climax. And for once, you don't have to worry about having a hangover in the morning, because there won't be anymore mornings!
That's right, the end is coming, and maybe you're not sure how to face it. We're here to help! Need some inspiration for your prompt for the eschatology event? Maybe some music is what you need.
Sure, R.E.M. sang about The End of the World (As We Know It), but that wasn't their only apocalyptic song. "I'm Gonna DJ" has Michael Stipe ready to party with lyrics like: If death is pretty final, I'm collecting vinyl. I'm gonna DJ at the end of the world!
Or maybe you prefer something heavier? How about Avenged Sevenfold's "Beast and the Harlot"? It is ripe with biblical references straight out of the Book of Revelation.
And don't forget the Man in Black. Johnny Cash sings about the end of the world in "The Man Comes Around".
Do you have other apocalyptic songs that inspire you? Share them below! Not inspired by music? Well, then let's talk eschatology! Whether you prefer the biblical end of Revelation, the epic battles of Ragnarok, or perhaps something more man-made, let's get the creative juices flowing so we can put our best foot forward when the end arrives at DPP.
