The neon lights up the city, bright and reflected on murky puddles in the concrete. People walk by in a rush, ignoring the prostitute with copper wound into her tar black hair. She holds up a sign; Find a ‘Pen Pal’ Here!

If anyone took her up on the offer she’d lead them into a bar. Screens of computers light up the room more than the tube of orange neon that rings the place. Sitting about on old and mismatched furniture is grinning, grimacing, assorted lot; a hacker sits, practically ignoring the half-built robot diligently... working between his legs. An android, no skin, just the bare and smooth white of her chasis, crosses her legs as she chats up a man in a suit far too nice for a place like this. Someone clearly coming down from the high rises to slum it for the night. He might get laid, sure. But this is a future of high technology and low life; he might get a lot more than he ever wanted.
