In the 9th century AD, Norsemen from across Sweden, Denmark, and Norway ravaged their way through Europe with a lust for battle. They expanded for many reasons - the lack of fertile land in their homestead, an expansion of their trade network, mercenary work, or even the raiding and pillaging they're so well known for. It is believed that despite the bloody image painted of the Vikings by their enemies, the Norsemen were at the time some of the most socially and technologically advanced societies. Men and women were treated equally, being judged by their merit not their gender. Women often filled leadership roles and often fought on the field beside men. I would like to explore an RP where you would play one of these northern women. Are you a shield-bearing battle maiden, a leader, or even a sorceress practicing the feminine magics, Seiðr?

• Naval Conquest - The trade convoy was only a day at most out of port. It had been smooth sailing until the striped red and white sails of a northern longship raised the alarm. Unable to outrun the far superior ships, we were boarded. The northerners took the lives of all those who opposed them and began hauling off their bounty. Being Captain of the ship, I refused to go down without a fight - despite how hopeless it may have seemed. As I was summarily beaten and tossed to the deck to be given the final blow, you stepped in and had a better idea. Death was not a gift I was worthy of in your eyes. I could be ransomed to the town I left, perhaps sold to another ship as a worker, or something more... interesting.

• Love on the Battlefield - In the thick of battle, their is only the present. The ghosts of the past hold no sway on your mind and the future is unknown and altogether irrelevant. The screams and the clatter of steel against steel echo across the battlefield only drowned out by the pumping in your chest. Two warriors meet, turned enemy by flag, creed, or circumstance. When staring face to face with death, you know your enemy on a deeper level than any friend. Great bonds can be formed between foes whose strengths can not bested by each other.

• The Seiðr Witch - The raid had been long and hard fought. Our ship returned home today bringing a large supply of food and goods to our people. We're due to set sail come tomorrow but I have to put my mind at ease. I had heard tales of a Witch in the wild - a woman who could divine your future and bless you with prowess in battle. These magics bear great gifts but may require a sacrifice... A sacrifice of blood or other bodily fluid may suffice. The clearing was difficult to find but by the runic carvings in stone and wood, I know I'm in the right place.
