Hey there DPP! I am definitely a lover of vanilla roleplays, so today's just my favorite day! I made this prompt before, so I want to try it out again. Let me know what you think!

You and I met in high school, pretty much in our first week of classes. We were both scared little freshmen, and we had a bunch of classes together, so we knew of each other. It took me bumping into you while you were at your locker for us to finally start talking. I was so nervous, I dropped some of my books as I was going to pick your books up off the floor. You were blushing up a storm. However, after our initial awkwardness we hit it off pretty well as friends. We both loved movies, were kinda nerdy (though I was more "advanced" in that department), and we were both kind people. We didn't even think about dating each other at first, because we were just such good friends with each other.

However, after much prodding and poking from our friends, we eventually did start dating a little more than halfway through our junior year in high school. It was a little awkward at first. We had both dated, but being friends, this was just a whole other level. However, eventually we got to be pretty comfortable with each other. And it was pretty good. We laughed and talked and were cutesy with one another. We made each other happy on a different level than when we were friends. Of course, our friends couldn't stop teasing us about it, but we didn't mind. We kinda liked it (when it wasn't overboard).

As our six month anniversary approached, I figured a good celebration would be to head out on a vacation together, just the two of us. A week or so into summer vacation, I surprised you with a trip to a beach resort and you loved the idea. I planned it for a few weeks ahead, and our excitement grew as the time neared. Finally, the day arrived, so after packing our bags into my car, we headed out.

I'm driving, with the windows down and the radio playing. Thankfully the summer heat has abated for just one day, to allow for a cool, comfortable ride down the highway to the resort. I look over at you and see you laying back in the passenger seat, sunglasses on and looking out the window. The wind whips your hair back and rays of sunlight gently caress your soft face, glistening slightly. I smile over at you and say "You look so cute, baby". You turn your face to me, lift up your eyebrows and give me a cute smile. Oh that smile. I can't get enough of it. Drives me crazy. You grab one of my hands and say "Thanks baby. You are too" grinning again. I nod and turn back to the road, content and excited at the prospect of the trip...
