I've always found my best friend to be interesting. She's the sporty type of woman, was a softball player, is ambitious and a hard worker, a career woman, independent, strong personality, and a bit of a tomboy. She is bi but was more or less a lesbian for years who dated just girls and was going to marry a girl she later broke up with. Our relationship and closeness mean I probably wouldn't want to be with her but I love talking about her and seeing what she does. Don't really want to date her or be with her myself. We've been good friends for a long time so I'm not sure we could really get into the mindset for sex, and I know her well enough to know that we'd be a bad romantic couple. Seeing her come out of her shell somewhat as far as straight sex goes is really interesting, though.

I don't live that close to her, but she's done some surprising things vis-a-vis her sex life. She was functionally a lesbian for years, and since she's so tomboyish and so much of the career-and-school focused type, its very hard imagining her doing anything outlandish.

That raises a fun topic, which is the concept of being surprised and having expectations be subverted. I think we all have women in our lives we find interesting - from partners to crushes to just friends or colleagues - and might let the mind wander a tad when it comes to what they might be up to. That part of people's lives tends to be private, and while people who keep it private may often not have anything they're actually keeping, some certainly do and the people who are a bit more on the down-low about it are the ones who are the most fun to discover something unexpected about.

I especially find it interesting when it relates to feminine roles and expectations. Women who you wouldn't expect to decide to fill a traditional gender role who do so.

At the very least, its fun to imagine, right?

I'd love to explore it, especially if you have something that actually happened, but even if you just imagine it. Maybe a girl you have a crush on dolls herself up for a conventionally hot guy. Maybe a close friend whose more of a "modern woman" ended up getting pregnant. Maybe a colleague you fancy got some work done. Maybe an ex girlfriend who seemed pretty normal to you started hooking up with some rich guy.
