It was just a normal weekend morning. I was talking to a FWB of mine when you had messaged me. (You could be a friend I’ve known for X years, a co-worker, or even my roommate.) as you had texted I swiped up to ignore it. Well then I went and sent a very.. naughty image to my FWB then close my phone. I set it down for just a moment when she messages me. “Well are you going to show me?” She asks. I open the chat and notice the image wasn’t there. I questioned for a moment before realizing what I had done. No problem right? I can just delete the message before you notice. I quickly swap chats to your texts and it already says ‘read’ before the chat bubble appears that you are replying.

It’s a cold late October morning. Your brother and I planned on going to the gym early that morning. I got ready and left my house around 7:45 and had texted your brother as I left. Roughly around 8, our agreed upon time, I arrive. I pull into the drive way not seeing his car but figuring it might be in the garage. I pull out my phone looking to see if he had read or replied back to my text but nothing. Left on delivered. I shake it off figuring he might be in his room asleep still which is normal. I get out of my car and walk up to the door in my red hoodie, grey sweat pants, a cut off t-shirt, and basketball shorts underneath. I knock on the door and wait hoping for someone to answer. After a couple of minutes I decide to call him, he answers only to say that he had to cancel due to him going with his girlfriend to her house. About the time I get off the phone and begin to walk back to my car I hear the door unlock. I turn back to see it beginning to open.

Today was the day.

I had put an ad out for a new roommate a few weeks ago. I was starting to fall behind on my mortgage so I had to think of a way to get extra funds to pay. Well knowing I have a 3 bedroom 2 bath house. “So why not have a roommate?” I thought to myself. After a few weeks of hearing nothing I finally get a message from a girl. She was interested in coming to see the house. I was excited so of course I told her to come over on Friday. Well today just so happened to be Friday. I planned on giving her a walkthrough. I told her if she wanted to move in immediately that we could do that. I just needed a deposit down immediately. Which I figured was fairly normal practice.

Well I’m sitting in the living room running through a million things in my mind wanting to make sure everything was perfect. “Check, check, check.” I say going through my list. Everything was done. I throw the list away into the trash. I go over to the couch and decide to turn on the TV. I turn the volume down so I could hear the knock on the door that only took a few more moments. I hop up from the couch. I straighten out my polo shirt. Below that I was wearing a pair of khaki pants. I figured formal might be a way to make a good first impression. Plus it’s a girl so I would take anything that would give me an advantage. I walk to the door slowly turning the knob looking down to see you. “(Your name here.) correct?” I ask making sure you were who I thought you were.

It was a cold December evening. I was at my cabin in the mountains of the Eastern US. I had been keeping an eye on the weather taking notes of the soon to be incoming storm. I knew it was going to be a big one and that there was no way I would make it home before it hit. I decide to bunker down for the night. The day before I had wore myself sore with the chopping and moving of wood for the fire place along with kindling to help start it. Around 6PM it was already dark outside but luckily I had already finished what I could for the day. My arms were sore so I didn't want to wear too much for the night. I had decided to wear just a cut off t-shirt and basketball shorts. I took a shower after I finished my work so I didn't have to worry about not having one if the power went out as well. I sit down in the living room turning the TV on getting relaxed as I dosed off.

A few hours later I woke up noting the power was out. "Well damn, I guess time for a fire." I say to myself. I grab my phone to use as a flashlight. I move around the house finding a few candles to set up in the living room to give the place a little bit of light before I was to start on the fire place. I get down next to the fire place placing some old newspapers and kindling inside then lighting it. I continue to throw in larger and larger pieces of wood until I was placing in slides of logs that would last a decent amount of time. "That's nice and warm now." I say feeling accomplished with myself. I head towards my recliner laying back for a minute before hearing a knock on the door. A bit confused I get up slowly as I approach the door. I think of the possibilities who would be here knowing the storm had been going for a minute and not knowing who would've came all this way here. I open the door slowly seeing you. "Uhh hello?" I ask a bit confused.
