Ah Christmas time, the cheerful merry joy, all the stores lit up and with window displays, all the cheerful music in the air, the need to be snuggled up by a fireplace with someone. Matt tapped his cane down the snow covered street alongside his companion for the day a new acquaintance who did personal shopping. In the past Matt had bought gift cards for many of his friends and bought gifts from online retailors. However this year he had a little extra cash and wanted to try out something different as an experiment just because he had never used personal shopping services before.
Their day had been even more successful than Matt hoped. They found cute ear rings and special fruity perfume for Matt's sister. For Matt's best friend they found cook books with desserts as baking was one of their hobbies that they sometimes did together. For his mom they found a complicated puzzle that matched her specific aesthetics. For matt's brother it was a little challenging. They wandered the comic book store takingphotos and consulting Google to ask "what was this action figure again?
Now they were seated in a charming independently owned diner. The smells of coffee, hot chocolate, peppermint, and cinnamon wafted through the air. They sipped their drinks, chatted a little, and listened to Blue Christmas by Elvis Presley on the jukebox.
"I'm actually surprised you chose to join me on our shopping trip. Most people use personal shoppers to avoid the dreaded shopping. Most of my clients are workaholic parents, or single men intimidated who have never learned the arts of giving"
"Well, I believe that there is a perfect present for each person, that I just can't see it because of my disease, that gift cards are fine but they are not personal enough. Besides I need the thrill of the chase" he said in his worst Australian Steve Irwin crocodile hunter accent.
"Did we get all the gifts, bag all the big game?" she playfully retorted.
"Yes, thanks, I think that's everyone. I wish I had a girlfriend to buy for, but that must just be those dumb Hallmark Christmas movies talking" Matt bit his tongue he can't believe he brought that up, what would this professional think of him complaining about lack of a social life?
They paid, she straightened up and made sure all of Matt's gifts were safely packed in the car.
Then she rushed him back across the street through the mall. "I think we have one more stop to make" She led him through the maze of the mall, dodging the busy shoppers. Then she turned and stopped in front of Victoria's Secret (or insert lingerie store name here)
Matt of course could not see the name of the store and all his teasing companion said was "Come feel over here Matt, guess where we are"
Vibe I was going for in this post was slutty Hallmark movie, hope you are in the mood for some sexy jolly fun. Even though this scene is more of a one night stand if our characters have chemistry I think there might be as many dates as an advent calendar in their future.
