They told me all I needed to know, bring back the silver wings of the fabled fairy that lurks deep in the enchanted forest, and they’ll pay me a handsome fee. Three sacks of gold, enough to cover weeks of wine and woman at the local brothel. I was one of few hunters in the village, the rest were either of hunting bounties in the kingdom center, or too busy getting drunk and chasing tail.

The bounty had been up for over a month, and few have ventured out into the forbidden portion of the forest, never to be seen or heard from again. But none of that mattered, not as long as I got my gold. So the next morning I grabbed my bow, loaded my horse with as many supplies as I could, and took off without a second thought.

I knew I was getting close when I felt it. The air was thicker, almost tangible, like an invisible wall that warned me not to cross. I still couldn’t hear or see any sign of life before me, but in my bones I felt a chill as I pushed forward through the silent woods. My horse had already refused to join me, and was waiting a few miles behind.

By the time the moon was at its highest, I saw you. In the midst of the tangled trees lay a glistening, crystal pond that reflected every ray of moonlight that blessed it. And in the middle stood the most beautiful creature I had ever seen. Her hair was a golden brown that draped down to her stomach, barely covering her naked breasts. She had the curves that men only dreamed of, and my eyes ran up the length of her before meeting her gaze. As your golden eyes met mine, I felt the pull. Before I knew it, I had already made it halfway to the pond, bow and arrow left behind. My mind was racing for control, but it was as if my body moved on its own.
