I step out of the car and shut the door behind me. After making my way to the trunk, I open it up. We make our way from the parking lot, down a small flight of steps, until our feet hit the sand.

Roughly 400 yards of beach stretches out before us. 300 yards to the left, 100 to the right. While the beach is always crowded, there's enough of it to find a few places that are quieter, with more space to lay out our things.

There are a few small businesses on the beach. They all occupy a space in the center of the beach to our left. There's a small bar, a BBQ hut, restrooms/changing stations, and a small hut with other drinks and snacks.

Farther on beyond the concessions area the sandy beach turns into a rocky cliffside. We've explored the area before and know that there's actually a small cave hidden on the other side of the cliffs that's easy to access if you know where to look for the entrance.

To the right, at the end of the beach is a tall, wooden privacy fence. Adults only beyond that point. We have never actually been inside before, but we know full well what to expect on the other side of the gate.

As you step on to sand beside me, I look to you and smile. "Shall we find a spot to set up?"
