We had spent the last half year of High School fixing up the old RV your uncle had in his garage.
Well, to be fair, it was you, me, and Alex, my now ex-boyfriend. He was supposed to go with us. Your parents liked him, because he knew when to be polite; they didn't like him after I told him that he cheated on me. Luckily they didn't cancel our plans, even though our "protector" wasn't with us anymore.

With us finally done with our last exams, we made sure that everyone knew that we went on our little trip. Adults now, and with nothing to stop us, we even made an Instagram for our RV!

We would share a bed, even though we had a nice sofa that either of us could easily sleep on. But... well, the bed was just a lot more comfy, and we both had our own blankets. And it's not like we haven't slept in the same bed hundreds of times before whenever I spent a night at your place, or you at mine, right?

Today, we drove the first hundred miles of freedom, and Vanessa didn't make a weird sound once. Okay, maybe once, but not twice! The sun had gone down, and we clink our wine glasses together. It's apple juice, but still. It's the thought that counts.
