Am I nitpicking? Possibly, but it’s still a valid criticism of our current way of life.

Just once I wish I could get the fuck off work, hop on the train, and get to my apartment without having to endure a 2-hour delay because some famous diva decided to shut down an entire block for a “spontaneous” meet-and-greet. I work 8 hours a day and I just wish I didn’t have to suffer more due to some act of celebrity worship.

Not to mention, these celebrities might as well be actual royalty. You can count yourself as more than lucky if you happen to interact with one of them rather than just see them through a screen or in a tabloid, flashing their perfect smiles and making the rest of us feel like mere mortals. It’s like they’re just to be looked at and never approached; you never really see them in a vulnerable moment, nor do you see them express much of anything that feels genuine.

Well, whatever, I might as well head down to my local pub tonight since it’s the weekend.
