A chorus of women and men filled the air, singing a song of sacrifice. All eyes were directed to the smallest of elves in their village. She was dressed in a white sheer like gown, with white lilies and moonflowers that adorned her hair. Her brown skin shone against the glow of the torches during the moonless night.

Her fate had been sealed the moment she differed from her fellows. A terrifying omen of what could happen, it drove the wood elves further into a frenzy to close the border of their territories away from anything that wasn’t an elf.

How long had it been since they made a sacrifice to the ‘Ishtafur’? Legends went that these wood elves used to sacrifice one maiden every 20 or so years. But as time went on and legends came and went so too did the rituals. The last sacrifice was just shy of 200 years.

Regardless of it all the crowd of elves herded the sacrificial maiden into the cave, and like an obedient little thing she went deeper into it. Her bare feet stumbled on some rocks but as time went on the rocky uneven cave floor became smoother.

Where there had been a strange darkness was slowly filling with light. A warm glow of some kind was coming down one of the tunnels, and with not much else to lose she ventured further into that light.

Candle holders were placed firmly into the rock itself that created a path to an entrance of some kind. A moth eaten curtain, it felt like velvet to the touch, barred the way in just for a moment.

As she pushed forward she was greeted with more light and something even more unexpected. This chamber within the caves was furnished. From ceiling to floor it looked like a noblemen’s chambers. Polished stone floors and rugs, some beautiful paintings, a lavish looking table made of some kind of polished wood. Gold and silver ornaments, a grand armoire and a bed. At the foot of it was a chest of some kind.

Curiosity beckoned her to open it, but it worked in her favor. There so many dresses and all manner of clothes. She ripped the gown off and sorted through all the clothes, placing them on the bed neatly.

In the shadows a figure watched her. ‘She’s shorter than some of the others… ah they’ve started culling now…’ the shadowy figure thought. They were entranced for a moment by her soft features. She looked delicate, but such was the nature of elves. Her hips were almost as wide as her shoulders, which was part of her frustrations picking clothes. A majority of the sacrifices had been lacking in curves and tall.

She huffed for a moment settling on a simple blue dress she found. Her small breasts didn’t fill up the top, but she found a simple shawl she could cover that with, it at least allowed her to move freely. Truth be told she looked cute, but sacrifice maidens like that were a dime a dozen, back then anyways.

“So you must be the newest sacrifice?” The voice almost seemed to boom.

But for whatever reason it almost sounded like it came from inside her head.

“Yeah… are you going to eat me or fuck me?”

Bluntness was a rare thing. The figure couldn’t but chuckle.

Maybe this sacrifice would be enough.
