I sat in the examination room, my eyes wandering around the space with natural curiosity as I waited for the doctor to arrive. The room was adorned with medical posters and diagrams, detailing the intricate workings of the human body. I found myself drawn to the illustrations, as they help distract me from the anxiety of waiting.
The soft hum of the air conditioning provided a soothing background noise, mixing with the distant sounds of muffled conversations and footsteps from the hallway outside. I let my gaze drift to the window, where sunlight filtered through the blinds, casting patterns of light and shadow across the room.
The examination chair stood imposingly in the center, its sterile white surface contrasting with the colorful magazines strewn haphazardly on a nearby table. I picked up a magazine, flipping through the pages absentmindedly as I tried to distract myself from the growing unease that lingered in the back of my mind.
As I observed the details of the room, from the medical equipment neatly arranged on shelves to the faint scent of antiseptic in the air, I couldn't help but feel a sense of detachment from it all. It was as if I wasn't supposed to be here as silly as the thought felt inside my head.
But amidst the sterile surroundings and the uncertainty that hung in the air, I stubbornly continued to wait determined not to have come all this way for nothing.
