Growing up in a small town, Lily didn't have many options when it came to dating. All of the boys around her age always seemed so immature and acted like idiots, and the only other men she interacted with were her old and creepy teachers. Mark saw things differently. Lily's crush on him was obvious, he had dealt with several new students trying to flirt with him before after all. However, he took pride in his role as an instructor, and typically after a week or two the girls would move on and find themselves in a relationship with another student. All except for Lily.

Mark thought Lily was a sweet enough girl, and he did appreciate her curiosity and intelligence. After a month of Lily flirting with him, Mark found himself starting to grow an affection towards the student as well, enjoying the brief moments of time with her before class started. He knew this developing feeling was wrong however, and he vowed to put a stop to it.

It was the last class of the day, and everyone was packing up to return to their dorms. As usual, Lily was one of the last to leave. As the student walked by Mark's desk to wish him a good bye, Mark said sternly, "Lily, do you have a few minutes? We need to talk."
