Your country had always been rather poor, but you didn’t know better. Everyone was fairly happy, and while you didn’t have a lot of possessions, the country and weather were beautiful. Before long a well armed rebel group formed, a civil war started, but with the rebels armed by foreign corporations and even governments, it didn’t last long. The new government was friendly to foreign interests and they took over quickly.

Soon the only real opportunities for men to work were in the mines run by foreign corporations for far less than it took to live. Women took jobs as domestic servants or tried to marry foreign men. Sure they were called wives and maids and servants, but the fact of the matter is most of these women were modern day slaves, at the mercy of foreign executives and diplomats for their livelihood. Being fired by one of these powerful men or families meant it would be difficult to find other work as you were essentially blackisted.

In addition these foreigners brought women from other countries who were even more slave like. Papers said they were married, but the truth was unspoken.
