Captain Davos Villengard sighed as the alarms blared again. On his monitors it showed the asteroid belt was growing closer at an alarming rate, and with his shield nearly depleted his ship The Derelict wouldn't survive many impacts. Luckily, he knew this system like the back of his hand, and with his course set for Noventis, there shouldn't be any asteroid belt at all. He grumbled, searching through a half-empty toolbox for a system scanner that would help him diagnose the issue.
It's only after the fifth sounding of the klaxon started to give him a headache that he remembered he traded the scanner for a bit of fuel the last time he had docked anywhere hospitable. He rubbed his face, and out of desperation for quiet he slammed his fist down on the screen. It went out, momentarily blank before seeming to reboot. When it displayed again it showed him on a clear course to the planet Eidolon-VII, with docking instructions for the city of Noventis. He sighed again, slumping back into his chair.
"Maybe it's finally time to get an engineer. What do you think, Alexandra?" He said aloud. A small hologram of a woman sat at the edge of his terminal's keyboard. She wore an ornate purple dress, her hair dark until the black gave way to fiery red at the tips, and depending on the angle the red would seem to change color.
"Well, that's up to you, Captain. At this rate, however, I do calculate you, the Derelict, or both will cease functions within a month." She said coolly, smiling up at him.
"Yeah, next time just say that you agree please." He said, rubbing his face.
"Of course, Captain." He could never explain it, but there always seemed to be a hint of sarcasm in her voice when he addressed him. Broken AI, broken ship, broken captain, he thought to himself. But as the planet drew nearer, taking up the whole viewport, he couldn't help but feel like things were about to change.
Hello DPP! Today I'm looking for someone interested in a good, detailed RP centering on science-fiction. Aside from that, I'm not very particular! Perhaps you're an engineer I pick up in Noventis, or maybe you'd like to play another role, or the whole crew! We could each play multiple characters, or maybe even just vignettes set across the stars.
I'm just looking for someone who would like to brainstorm potential ideas or plot points and is fine with sporadic responses. Some days I can crank out a half-dozen or more, and some days I won't find the time for one. But open communication about expectations and enjoyment are key to happy roleplaying! Hope to see some orange envelopes soon!
