Currently reading the story of Jason and the Argonauts and it's put me in a very Grecian mood. This plot is inspired by Greek mythology but not exactly a story that has been told already. Mostly I love the Achilles/Patroclus, or Heracles/Hylas relationships. So that's what I'm after today. Foreknowledge of these myths is not required but does make the story more enjoyable.
In the land of Nemea, the king Lymnos and his loyal queen Pelemia ruled over the people kindly and fairly and eventually gave birth to twin sons, Dariaster and Mephys. Dariaster was the result of a midnight visit from the god Hermes and Mephys was born of the coupling of king and queen the following morning.
Both boys grew well in the following years. Dariaster soon began to develop some traits akin to his divine parentage. He was fleeter of foot, more gifted in the arts, and a bit of a trickster. Once convincing the family hounds that his brother, Mephys, was a hare to be pursued. They chased him around the garden and nearly pounced on the frightened boy had Dariaster not released them from their spell. After that, they went back to the panting, and tail wagging of a loyal dog.
Mephys got his revenge one night by tricking Dariaster into a wooden chest which was to be delivered to the far off kingdom of Illya. Mephys smiled and waved as the cart driver carried his pestilential demi-god twin away.
Ten years later, the king and queen died of a plague which had passed through Thrace. Until their final days they believed Dariaster to be dead. Mephys succeeded them on the throne and ruled with a cruelty and disdain for the general populace.
Dariaster, far off in Illya, received a visitor. His father Hermes reflected in the water of a well near his small adopted home. Hermes told him of what was happening in Thrace and how he must return home to liberate his people.
Along the way there will be monsters, obstacles, and love.
That's pretty much all the backstory and I hope it has struck your interest. I am looking for someone to bring their own original character to play Dariasters companion. To do the things that our classical mythology teachers called "being very good friends" lol.
Limits: toilet play, and sexualized violence (naturally monster fighting takes some non-sexual violence)
