Hey everyone! I saw an idea I really liked and wrote what I hope is a decent reply OR a decent start to an RP. I assume the poster was inundated with messages, so I decided to take my reply and see if anyone would be up for playing it out with me!

The idea with this one is that a ex husband and wife who have been divorced for a while and do not get along would find themselves alone and together and after bickering an arguing hook up and have an insanely hot night.

This premise requires the kids be gone, they can be at a grandparent’s or a friend’s house, or at a party, whatever works for the ages we decide on (I was thinking mid 30’s but it can be younger if we want.

In this case the wife answers the door wearing my character’s old college hockey jersey, and she has semi-recently been getting into better shape (my character has similarly been getting back into shape) and since they basically never see one another other than kids being dropped off in a driveway it starts the tension in the scene.

With the kids out the ex wife ordered some food and is watching TV. Something is going on with my place where there’s going to be a couple weeks of work, but technically the house is still half mine and it has a guest room so I decide I should be allowed to stay and not waste money on a hotel for 2 weeks.

My character would be named Doug or Douglas for this one. He’s 6’3” broad shoulders, short brown hair and eyes, in good shape, long legs I imagine he runs and does light weight lifting to keep fit. Again his currently level of fitness would be fairly recent after years of neglecting it post college when kids showed up.

When I park the car I take a deep breath, really not wanting to deal with this, but the work that needs to be done is too long for a hotel to make any sense. Now that I’m here I hesitate.

Maybe it’s not worth it, but there’s plenty of space in the house and there’s no reason to waste so much money. I don’t need permission to sleep in my own fucking house.

I suppose I say that to myself to help me get out of my car with my bags and walk up to the house. I have on an old shirt and some sweats, if I’m going to walk into a fight I may as well be comfortable

I ring the bell and knock on the door, and bite my cheek as I wait for you to come to the door. I see the knob turn and when it opens my mouth moves to say “Uh… hey.” But it immediately catches in my throat.

I haven’t seen you in a while. Clearly longer than I thought, because there you are in my old college jersey looking like we’re 21 and so my mouth just hangs open dumbly.

All I manage is a wave, a shrug, and holding up my bags as if to try to say, “I came to stay for a couple weeks.”

I love romance-y stuff and this one struck a chord for me, so I would love the chance to play it out. If you are interested in a different romantic scenario I am always game so just shoot me a chat or message and we can talk about it.
