I woke up in a sweat. I was hyperventilating. My heart was trying to beat out of my chest.

The dream had started out…pretty good actually. She was beautiful, I was lost in her. We rolled in bed. Hair and arms and sheets were everywhere. Details were fuzzy, but this was a fantastic dream.

Then it changed.

I couldn’t breathe. I was panicking. She was panicking. Things flashed red. I thrashed. She screamed. I was dying.

Then I woke up.

I’d eventually calmed myself down and was able to get another hour or two of sleep, but it was going to be a long day. I got up at 6, as usual, and did the morning thing. By 7:30 I was on my way to work, and I thought I’d be able to put the dream I had last night out of my head.

I sat at a cafe drinking a coffee and reading the news. I looked up. The woman from my dream last night was looking at me, we caught each other’s gaze, and her face lit up as she smiled. She pushed her chair out from her table and stood up, grabbing her coffee and her purse, walking in my direction.

My heart stopped.

Hi all, this is kind of a seed of a prompt right now, but I’m excited about it. I value your feedback here, if this absolutely sucks let me know why :)

The idea is the MMC has a dream where he sees himself die…no other context, other than he was having sex with the woman of his literal dreams.

I think this one plays particularly well for a longer build up. The MMC has to struggle with his premonition, and his attraction to this dream woman. The FMC could make this more challenging by actively seducing the MMC.

If you want a twist, maybe your character is Death. Maybe it’s her job to seduce him and harvest his soul.

Or, maybe they have sex, and the MMC lives. But then his dream returns. Maybe they make it further into their relationship before he dies.

I hope this inspires you, and gives you some good ideas. 

About me — I’m looking for long term partners. I love to write. I love to build complex characters, put them in interesting worlds, and watch them interact, and then make them do dirty things :) The dirty bits should fit into the story, I’m ok with any ratio (pref 50% or less smut), but both are necessary.
