In the months following Joker’s death and the dismantling of Arkham City, the criminal element of Gotham began fighting for supremacy. Joker being gone opened up a lot of closed off avenues for the other villains.

Power does hate a vacuum.

However, the biggest target on my back hasn’t come from Two-Face, Penguin, or any of the usual suspects. It’s come from you; Harley Quinn. It’s not surprising. You blame me alone for his death and have been unable to see it as anything other than that it really was. Joker made himself sick and, though I would have given him the cure, even after all his killing and thieving, he couldn’t help but attack me in the moment. I dropped the cure, and he died.

Tonight, sitting atop a gargoyle, I’ve been alerted to a rooftop fire near the steel mill. It’s undoubtedly another trap you’ve set to try and get the drop on me. I head that way, determined to maybe finally get through to you and convince you that I didn’t kill him. And, just maybe, I can convince you that you’re better off without him.

Hello all!

Pretty short prompt, but I like the idea itself. So, the setting is obvious, and is easier if you’ve played the Arkham games, but it’s set just after Arkham City. Joker is dead and Harley is mourning, and sets a trap to kill Batman because she still blames him for Joker’s death. They end up bonding and connecting and Harley (after a few hook ups and learning his secret identity) abandons her criminal life. They fall in love and she moves in with Bruce and becomes like a den mother to the sidekicks. More of a romantic bent than anything too wild.
