The clanking of glassware echoes throughout my empty lab late into the evening. It was risky to synthesize this at the university chem labs but they were the only ones with the necessary equipment to reliably convert my reactants into the desired product. An entirely new drug, mixing effects from several others, and made 5 times more addictive.

A beeping alarm goes off on the other side of the lab. The centerfuge is done with the latest set of candidates. I slide myself off from the stool in front of my laptop, grabbing a box of test strips and heading to check the potency and composition of the thirty or so different solutions.

First I slide on my respirator, goggles, and lab gloves; as I obviously wouldn't want to get hooked on my own supply. One by one I dip the strips in, let them airate for a moment, and then stick them into a chromatograph that breaks down the chemical components in the sample. It had been months of working at this during late hours when I knew I wouldn't be bothered. Fatigue was setting in.

I sighed, "9 always has been my lucky number, here's hoping," I was narrating to my recorder which transcribed lab notes for me. Eyes glazed over, thinking I should probably call it a night after testing these sa . . . .

"DING!"

Those weary eyes widened quickly, and I quickly looked through the spectrogram. I couldn't believe it, so I studied it agaqin, and then a third time. Absolutely perfect. The method of synthesis turned out to be a bit more labor intensive than I had wanted it to be which would have been an issue if I was intending to either mass manufacture this for a cartel or cut down and try to find an excuse to peddle to the masses as an antidepressant or something. Luckily I was just planning on making this in small batches for personal use. Well, not 'personal' per se . . .

Holding the vial still in my hand I walked back over to the laptop and begin to imagine what fun I was about to have with my newfound potion, and with the person behind the Facebook profile I had just hacked into.

This is a take on another promot I had with some more forced-intoxication spice tossed in. The rough setup is that the scenario starts off as non-con, ideally through some blackmail, but the 'villan' uses the opportunity to slip a narcotic into his innocent and unassuming victim which is highly addictive. The problem is, this new addict has no idea what they're addicted to, so there's only one way to get their fix: going back to the source.
