It was the huge new trend at first, but it eventually had gone far past that. It was simply a part of life now.

It started innocently enough. It was getting promoted on social media, through ads, talk shows on tv and by celebrities. The idea of the Color Personality Spectrum. It seemed to be popular with women, this idea that every girl fit into one of several different personality archetypes; each assigned to a specific color.

“Ugh, you’re such a blue.” You would commonly hear things like this on the street. Things only got stranger from there.

Women all over started exclusively dressing in the one specific color they’d become obsessed with. Knee socks, shoes, glasses, nails. Then dyed hair, eyebrows and the ludicrous makeup, several dozen layers of overly bright lipstick and eyeshadow in garish colors like blue, white, orange, purple, lavender, and emerald green.

They caked lipstick and eyeshadow on so thick that they looked utterly silly, but it’d become all the rage. Lipstick marks on your body became a badge of honor for a lot of men, if you saw a guy with green and black lipstick all over his abs and chest then you knew he’d had a hell of a night.

It went beyond a trend and 30 years later it was simply a permanent part of culture.

This all seemed to be some psychological change that was preparing then for Rainbow Marriages, one man married to a horde of Rainbow colored women. This was possibly a natural result of the fact that Male births had been dwindling for years and there was now one man for every 12 women, perfect for a Rainbow Relationship.

Women tended to bond with other women of their color; but it had become accepted that a healthy marriage was a one balanced with all colors, thus monogamous marriage became obsolete.

Eventually, that had become a simple fact of life as well. It was now just the norm for men to be in a relationship with a horde of rainbow ladies. The healthy ones were completely poly with each other, some of the more exploitive ones were more harem-like in nature.

For many young men and women coming into the adult world, a Rainbow Marriage was their goal.
