I always liked to shoot a text to new students. It was important to get a read on them, and make sure they were going to show up at all. Since I was new, I hadn't picked up any regulars, and so far only substituted for the more senior instructors when they were sick.
Today's was different. I didn't have someone pursuing a license, but instead a friendly-seeming girl who was trying to deal with a lifelong fear of flying. It was actually quite common for people to take one or two lessons and feel better. I enjoyed these lessons, too. It wasn't a bunch of dry rules and regulations, nor was it awkward and complicated radio work. More or less, I just had to give her a basic understanding of how the plane flies, and try to have fun along the way.
I was also happy because it meant we got to use the pretty plane. Some of our older ones were well-maintained, but also well-worn. This one, though, was sleek and bright white, with low-set wings, smooth, pleasing lines, and bright chrome on the spinner and exhaust pipes.
I was satisfied to receive a text indicating she was here. Wow, even a few minutes early. I quickly wrote back.
[Go ahead and knock on the office door, they'll send you through.]
I wore a light gray field shirt, partway unbuttoned, over a white tee with company-mandated khakis and, thankfully, my own choice of comfortable sneakers. I leaned comfortably against the cowling when she came around the corner.
Wow!
I took a deep breath. In training, an old instructor had once shut the engine off mid-flight to see how I reacted. I didn't flinch. A girl as pretty as you might make me even more nervous, but I was determined to respond the same way.
"Hi!" I said in a friendly and informal tone, no differently than I might to a male student my same age. "I think it's pretty cool that you're doing this, and I think we'll have fun. I thought we could start by going through the preflight inspection together."

Hi! I'm leaving this pretty open-ended, this would just be a super fun character to write. I could go so many directions. Do we get so caught up with each other that it creates a dangerous distraction? Or maybe we're more professional, but you come back for more lessons despite your fear. Or maybe we don't fly together much, and this becomes more a drama of work/life balance for a new couple.
Orrrrrrrr maybe you get a job as the airport receptionist and it's a game of office flirting.
Up for just about anything. Messages please, no chats!
Kinks: romance/affection, mild subdom, going on adventures together, reasonable age gaps (<10yrs)
