Today was the day.

I had put an ad out for a new roommate a few weeks ago. I was starting to fall behind on my mortgage so I had to think of a way to get extra funds to pay. Well knowing I have a 3 bedroom 2 bath house. “So why not have a roommate?” I thought to myself. After a few weeks of hearing nothing I finally get a message from a girl. She was interested in coming to see the house. I was excited so of course I told her to come over on Friday. Well today just so happened to be Friday. I planned on giving her a walkthrough. I told her if she wanted to move in immediately that we could do that. I just needed a deposit down immediately. Which I figured was fairly normal practice.

Well I’m sitting in the living room running through a million things in my mind wanting to make sure everything was perfect. “Check, check, check.” I say going through my list. Everything was done. I throw the list away into the trash. I go over to the couch and decide to turn on the TV. I turn the volume down so I could hear the knock on the door that only took a few more moments. I hop up from the couch. I straighten out my polo shirt. Below that I was wearing a pair of khaki pants. I figured formal might be a way to make a good first impression. Plus it’s a girl so I would take anything that would give me an advantage. I walk to the door slowly turning the knob looking down to see you. “(Your name here.) correct?” I ask making sure you were who I thought you were.
