When you got married to my father, he was a family man Clark Griswold would be jealous of, a passionate lover, and attentive in every way you could dream of. You could finally be the stay at home trophy wife you had always dreamed of being with practically none of the work.

I knew better.

I knew my father was the type to love bomb people, shower them with gifts, and make women feel like they were the only thing that mattered.....until he got bored of them. It was something I found disgusting. You were a wonderful women and I could see that. Whether it was your commitment to keeping him company when he was hoke from work trips, your diligence in keeping the house a perfect paradise, or even just your genuine kind and helpful demeanor when talking with me.

When it finally happened, snooping through his phone to find texts from a coworker, you realized what this man had done to you, made you his pretty little wife to be ignored at home as the maid. His excuse was always the same, you hadn't given him another child yet and he was getting impatient.

It was his fault more than it was yours, the man had been shooting nothing but blanks for a while and refused to believe what any doctor or test told him.

Why he wanted another child when he had a son already was beyond you or me, and we talked at length for hours about how scummy, pigheaded, and misogynistic my father was and how badly we wanted to get back at him...you still had his credit cards after all!

Would we go on a beach trip, just the two of us, while he was gone for a week? Maybe rent a yacht to enjoy in the Florida keys? That all sounded fun but dad was a pretty rich man who wouldn't notice that dent in his savings, and even if he did, he wouldn't care...no we'd have to do more.

Why not give him that son he wants so badly?
