The temple hall was full of commotion, as it nearly always was. Lesbos’ sole temple was a plaza of sorts for the women of the island, one where feminine virtue and desires could be celebrated away from the lustful eyes of men. Craftswomen making the most gorgeous gowns, hiereiai on praying to Aphrodite with their palms facing skyward, flawless hetairas pleasuring temple goers… The Temple of Aphrodite in Lesbos had it all. It was a true female paradise.

Among the usual business of the temple, a lone hiereia made her way to the grand figure of Aphrodite that watched over her children. The statue was made of pure marble, and it’s form was the work of a master. Every sensual curve flawlessly sculpted, her perfect bosom laid bare… The goddess was to be everything any woman ever wanted.

The hiereia lifted her palms and prayed. She prayed for peace, good fortune, and finally, an end to her loneliness. The priestess desired female companionship, but even in a lesbian’s paradise, she could find none that were intertwined with her own fate. So, she prayed, hoping the goddess of beauty and love would take pity on her.

Hello everyone! If you’ve read this far, I presume that little intro was interesting enough to you. So here’s the rundown of this prompt.

I’m looking to craft a long term somewhat history-based roleplay (though certainly not historically accurate) about lesbian love blossoming on Lesbos. I have a few different ways we could take this, though I’m certainly open to suggestions!

In one scenario, I envision our adorable hiereia (priestess) is graced with a divine visit by her lady Aphrodite, whom guides her through understanding pleasure.

In another, the goddess answers her prayers through a temple hetaira (high class prostitute) leading to a slow burn lust-to-love relationship.
