We don’t live in a world governed by hormonally hyperactive young men. So, things in reality bear little to no resemblance to your average porn flick. While men and women both can be horny as fuck and make stupid decisions as a result، it doesn’t usually venture into the realm of uncontrollable. You find a quiet place or whatever works for you and you Jack or Jill off till the moment passes. It’s actually a relatively rare portion of the population that suffers from clinical sex addiction. Sure, we all talk about how “like she was a total nympho” but it’s usually debilitating sort of compulsion. Still, I recall the way it was talked about when I was younger or how it was portrayed in movies. I suspect it’s sort of like how people talk about OCD today. “Oh I get a little OCD about my sock drawer…teehee” and not “I had to lock and unlock every door in my house 53 times before I could finally go to sleep.” So you’d run across characters that were always hot to trot and not “I was late to work today because I hooked up with my postman after thinking he looked cute in the little shorts and oh my god what will my bf do when he finds out?” kind of stuff. The fantasy doesn’t always live up to the reality. Still, it left me with the notion that there was all this wild and crazy stuff that could be found lurking just beneath the surface if you just knew where to look. So, what did that cute milfy housewife get up to when hubby was at work? What did the cute geekette get up to behind the scenes at the last convention? How many Trekkies boldly went there? Sure, she’s a fierce business woman, captain of industry, but she did what?! With who? During the company retreat? Perhaps one of the more interesting things about getting older is that a lot of people out there have a lot more they’re willing to explore without it getting to the level of clinical pathology. I mean, how weird is it that they cast a woman who likes sex as a sex addict in ever so many raunchy sex comedies over the years. Like, shouldn’t she like it? Even a lot? How bad must things be if her merely liking it is cause for celebration? Oh dear. So, obviously, this is more of a conversation than a prompt. I’m sure if we’re creative enough we could hammer a prompt out from it, but I’m also just interested in exploring the penpal aspect of this subreddit. It’d be nice to know what secret faces people have lurking behind their innocent facades. Or faces, most people don’t have facades…not really architectural most people. Less mortar.
