You doublechecked the runes, carefully selected the name of the creature from a list of hundreds, and practiced every phoneme of the encantation for weeks, you were *not* going to fuck this up. After sitting comfortably on the floor and making sure that everything was in place, it was time to begin.

You raise your arms to the darkened room, and the candles sitting carefully around the edge of the summoning circle burst into flame one by one. The grimoire in front of you opens on its own and turns to the relevent page. You take a breath, and begin to chant.

The words are arcane and complex, nearly causing you to trip up on them, but you power through, and after a few minutes dark smoke begins to billow from the center of the circle. It spirals up towards the ceiling and several strands begin to test the boundary before pulling back. Your spellwork is exquisite, and there is no crack through which to escape.

As your chanting reaches a cresendo, the smoke clears and there, in the circle before you stands... Me, not the pixie that you had anticipated. Not exactly what you had in mind for your first summoning, oops!
