The alarm was a shrill burst of sound against my ear, forcing me out of the bed. My eyes snapped awake, as I damn near tumbled out of bed. I was still groggy from the previous night, having spent yet another night awake, playing games, and pleasuring myself just a bit too much. I couldn't hardly help myself though, not with the amount of stress I'd been under. Mom and Dad had been fighting again, and I was struggling to save up enough money to move out. The house stunk of booze, and I was beginning to lose patience with no one other than myself cleaning anything!

I dragged myself out of bed, grabbing what few pairs of clean clothes I had and padding to the bathroom. I cranked the shower to the hottest setting, stripping down and staring at myself in the mirror. Soft green eyes, punctuated by freckles that had spread across my nose and cheeks, plump lips, and a man of wavy black hair that tumbled down my lower back. I'd grown it out in an attempt to make myself look a little more badass, a little more refined. But so far all it had done was make me look... different.

A shudder ran through me as the bathroom filled with steam, and I discarded any odd thoughts that I had and stepped into the shower quickly. Today was going to be a pain in the ass, classes, my part time job, dealing with my parents, and all the other shit that life was likely to throw at me today. But I was going to be able to handle it... right? I certainly hoped so, because life had really been fucking me in the ass lately.
