We met at a work event, I noticed your right away in your perfect blue dress. Your beautiful brown skin and big eyes. Our host introduced us, yet I was so distracted by your smile that I forgot your name as soon as I heard it.
We made small talk, everyone was having a good time, drinking, laughing and getting ready for the band to come on.
Then you smiled at me. A big beautiful smile. A smile I can still see clear as day.
But, I’m married. I couldn’t act on what I was feeling. I kept thing friendly, assuming you already had someone. Then I heard you didn’t. The struggle was even harder to not throw caution to the wind. So I flirted, lightly. Ribbed you a bit for not knowing the band.
Then I hear someone giving you a hard time for your preference in men. That’s when I knew just one more smile would be the end of my self control. The control that I barely was able to maintain sitting next to you.
The thoughts that where and are still running through my head would leave you exhausted…
