I had barely been home a day from my freshmen year of college, and my mom was already putting me to work. Couldnât I get one day to just relax? No, of course, I couldnât. I could hear her nagging me as I pushed the lawnmower up and down the length of our yard. âYou arenât just going to sit around looking at Bookface all summerâ I rolled my eyes at the thought of it âReally bookface? She was so oldâ.
With that chore done, I walked inside to get a drink of water. I wasnât inside for more than 5 minutes when she was sending me next door to see if the new neighbor needed anything. Apparently, they had become fast friends and my mother volunteered my services
When I knocked on her door I was expecting a short and frumpy mom. However, when she opened the door I was greeted by the most beautiful MLIF I had ever seen. I could barely speak.
