Crystal Pines... situated deep in a valley of the White Peak mountains is a backwater, redneck town if there was ever one, home to nearly exclusively a community of Anthros. The town itself is almost like a relic from a different age... having certainly seen better days as it was left forgotten as the world moved along without it. Situated along the cool, winding Pinewater river, the town is host to a few remaining industries, namely a paper mill, lumber mill, mine and a few other assorted hubs of production, still exporting quality ore and wood from the ancient mountains around them.

The town proper is host to a few different businesses, but lacks any of the tacky chains that you might see in a more modern town, instead being host to many locally owned businesses. A supermarket, clothing store, a few small restaurants, police station, town hall, even a local newspaper still in production, with the people preferring their news from print sources instead of anywhere else.

Beyond the town itself... there is a relatively wide spread section of slums... as in a small town like this there would be significant amount of decay. Old, decrepit buildings, locally run bodegas, gas stations and fast food restaurants, suspicious dark alleys and trap houses, along with other suspect places that you might find gangs, drug dealers and addicts and other dirty, skeezy and sleezy places, along with the sorts of people you might expect there.

Beyond that, there is a local trailer park, different rural focused farms and businesses, along with a relatively popular dive bar and truck stop nearby the one highway that still gets a relatively steady flow of traffic.

Crystal Pines is relatively unchanging... and would have stayed that way, until one day they got a new resident... a human boy coming in with just a duffel bag and barely any money. That would be me... deciding to move to the relatively unknown town in order to try to state a clean slate and leave my past behind me. I could only hope that the people of the town would be welcoming to a new human resident... and that I could find a way to make a living in this new place...
