“Holy… shit that was intense.” I manage to let out as we finish our 5 mile run along the boardwalk. I start to slow down as the two of us take a bit of a rest right next to a boardwalk shop where I quickly run in to grab us each a bottle of ice cold water.

The weather for this run started off on the cooler side, mainly because we decided to start in the morning. But as the miles wore on and the sun started rising even higher, the temperature was now approaching the mid-80’s. Couple that with the humidity and you have an environment more grueling than the air conditioned gym.

Which brings us to how we met. We have been going to the same gym and working out there for quite some time now. But it has only been recently since we started to actually talk to one another. While we didn’t usually do the same exercises, we would alway pass one another and give each other a high five.

Then yesterday, I decided to see if you wanted to go for a run with me and, we’ll, that’s how we wound up here- panting and breathing excessively while our bodies became nice and shiny from all the sweat.

“Wanna continue? Or do you think we should rest for a while longer?” I ask, finishing the rest of my water by pouring it on my face and body. Making my white running shirt nearly see through.
