His words had a way of coming back to her, long after she’d read them. She’d roll them around in her mind, wondering if he knew just how powerfully they affected her. The imagery of his words was so vivid, it was hard for her to believe they were nothing more than characters marching across a glowing screen. Her eyes inexorably drawn to them as their conversations lasted through the night and into the wee hours of the morning.

It wasn’t so much that she liked his words for their size- it was more than that. She admired the way he selected each word for its beauty and meaning. His words were like precious gems, artfully arranged and presented to their best effect. When she replied to his letters, she always took her time to reply…delighting in the challenge of responding to him in kind.

Words mattered to her and she loved being able to play with them and arrange them in ways that evoke feelings in others. His words made her feel and he assured her that hers affected him similarly. Despite the distance, the time zones between them and all the other things against such a connection, they had one…

Finally, she would have to give in to the fatigue that crept through every inch of her body, eyes dry and burning from staring too long at the screen. She’d get up slowly, stretching as she stood up from her desk, her mind alive with evocative images, her panties damp with the result of his words. She'd retire to her bed too aroused to sleep; it was only then that she truly minded the distance and unconventional nature of their connection.
