The wheels of the wagon creaked as the old cart trundled down the winding road towards the small, sleepy town of Stillwater. Kaldun looked back at his companions, still soaked to the bone from the torrential downpour they had ridden through only an hour or so before, and said aloud what everyone was thinking. "We need a good spot to camp for the night. Still a long way to Stillwater." Asarak nodded in agreement, fingering the edge of his axe. "Tired," he grunted. "And wet." He stopped and looked towards the road ahead. "We need shelter," he said. Fenren looked over at his compatriots from below the cowl he wore pulled low over his face to keep out the rain. "Be a dear and keep an eye out, would you Kaldun? I could use a rest too," he called up from back of the cart. Kaldun merely nodded. It wasn't till another hour of riding had passed, however, that Kaldun spotted a small cave that might make for a good resting spot for the night. Hurriedly, he pulled the cart off the road and his companions set about pitching camp and lighting a small fire in the mouth of the cave entrance...

It has been a long and dangerous trek thus far, and someone needs to blow off some steam in a way that's not just splitting goblin skulls. 2. This cave that our heroes have found them selves at the mouth of is not as shallow as they had once thought, and the smell of cooking meat and wine, and the light of the fire has attracted some of the denizens of its depths. Are they a tribe of goblins? kobolds? Or is it some unspeakable and many-tentacled aberration from a far of realm?
