A hand touch and a sharp intake of breath. My stomach fluttered and I pulled away, clearing my throat. Beep, zshhhhh, beep, zshhhhh. The copier was extremely noisy, everything was too noisy. The aircon flowing through the vents, and the hard patter of rain on the windows. I had come into the office to get a headstart, the board had given me two options, lay some people off or no more overtime for anyone. No one I knew could afford either so here I was afterhours ensuring that the next day could run smoothly. I have been doing this for weeks, I was getting very little sleep, my partner and I were starting to drift further apart because of the long hours. I was barely eating but it was on me to get our funding back up so that no one could lose any money or their jobs. Sometimes I had ended up just sleeping in the office. Every night you would be one of the last to leave and would always check up on me. You'd ask me "hey are you okay? do you want some dinner or a drink?" I'd always reply "I will eventually but thank you enjoy your night." It started off as being genuine, but after some weeks, it got harder and harder to refuse. I started longing after you, my loins burning for you. Because I was never at home, I never got some.
