Gwen closed her eyes briefly and let gravity yank her back down to the floor at the height of her swing. The short second before she was sent hurtling back to the ground, the feeling of weightlessness was calming to her. The sound of the wind whistled around her mask, the cold wind feelings through the fabric, the bright beams of streetlights beckoned her close until she held out her right wrist before firing off another web and using the momentum to swing around the city… trying to figure out her plan for the upcoming weekend.

It was Miles's birthday, and they had been toeing the line between friendship and partners for a while; despite all the signals and glances she noticed him sending her, despite her own feelings for him, Gwen never acted on those feelings for him, and to her disappointment, he never acted either.

She shook her head as she played over how much their relationship had changed in the last few years, what started as childhood friendship had blossomed into a beautiful form of love, not too dissimilar from a rose blossoming its red petals in spring.

Gwen felt her stomach flip, not from the sudden change in direction but from the love she felt at that moment. She landed on a nearby rooftop and removed her hood and mask before activating her dimensional travel watch to open up a portal, and it took a moment to finish opening up to where she wanted to go, but as soon as she saw Miles, a small smile flashed across her face.

She still felt the same as when she saw him…despite now being 20 years old old and miles just turned 19, she still felt the same as ever,

"Hey Miles… . happy birthday"
