Summer 2024. The kiwi singer Lorde is gearing up to bless the world with another album. Compared to the pop of the past two albums, her latest one recaptures the indie spirit of her debut album while musically taking inspiration from PJ Harvey, Thom Yorke, and the likes. Some sort of dark, alternative pop rock album. One of the most highly anticipated albums of the year one might add.
So far, fans know of the album title -- "Used" -- and the first, rather provocative single, called "Fuck Me", which was accompanied by an equally provocative music video.
The singer herself retreated to a idyllic cabin in the woods, near a lake, surrounded by thick forests.
This is where you come in. Who you are is up to you, but your job as a music journalist made you find yourself in the aforementioned environment, the 26 years old NZ singer sitting next to you as you're about to interview her -- as the last of dozens of interviewers this week.
I envision this scene to have two parts. I part one we roughly work out some details on the album and why it is provocative (and how sexual the lyrics and themes are), in part 2 we play out the interview, including the uhh behind the scenes stuff.
