The base premise is about two people coming together with their own set of issues/past and finding some kind of solace together but it can be done in so many ways, I'll put some examples below

Life brought them in prison, learning the harsh ways to survive in the prison while developing a bond. Prison can have the goons issue, every goons wants to have a control, there can be officers too involved in ways. Maybe around there mid to late 20s, modern time period. Two people who either might be innocent or did something without having much choice, that we can develop through discussion, end up here.

**Eric got framed for the murder of his landlord, he was put in prison. He didn't do anything but got the tag of criminal. His life changed, nothing was going to be the same anymore. There he has to face people of such background, at first he was being picked on but he was a very stoic type of guy, people eventually started to ignore him but he would help someone around prison too which started to annoy the people at top of group in prison. Several officers were working along them as well.

The girl (let's call her Jemma or now but name can be chosen) was put in the prison, in the heinous crime of killing her uncle/neighbour. Nobody knew of she did it or not but after a long trial she was convicted. Put in jail with all these messy situation.

The two come across, maybe guide slightly and find a bit of trust that Eric didn't feel before with anyone. They spend time, relax together and even plan against problems in prison to survive in the rule, share and to eventually make it out of prison and reconnect with the life they lost.**

It can focus on their rise in the prison itself or them making through it and then eventually getting out to make a life. One way can also be that one is prisoner (supposedly the male), the other can be related to someone else in prison, someone who doesn't have to be in prison all time but visits, may have some right to meet someone. Maybe inside prison if they are, first they get to meet, there is this whole group and issue around it, some dark themes too and then then guy challenges, taking a stand or a position eventually while having her by his side. Even if she was innocent, she will slowly open up and become like a badass Survivor with him, even after they get out of prison. If she is someone who gets to visit the place a lot as a guest/medical or other things then it will be focused more on her personal turmoil on how and why she opens up to him so much. In that case we can also track her life outside or around it rather than just him and prison.
