The city of New Thebes was a nice mid-size city in the Midwestern United States. But this was the 50s. The world was...not ready for such things. So the town kept it's changes lowkey. People noticed some things - like the black mayor they elected in the 1961 elections, But they had no idea the breadth or depth of the change.

The residents had realized something, namely how much better black men were at...well most things, but the first thing they noticed was how much better they were at sex. That colored a lot of the rest, but also served as lubricant.
