Do you ever wonder how the choices you made earlier in your life have led you to where you are now?

I find myself thinking this exact thought as the man before us places a large box upon his desk. The box is secured with ropes and sealed with wax; even if I wanted to, there would be no way for me to look inside without the recipient knowing. This is not unheard of, but it's sufficiently rare that I sit up a little straighter in my seat. In most cases, the couriers are trusted not to peek at the cargo. Wax means business.

"As I say," the man continues, his voice betraying no emotion, "your job is to take this package to Ephra. Ah-" He holds up a hand, and I swallow my objection. "I'm quite aware of the distance, but there's no other way to get this package there safely. The postal service is a joke, and you come very highly recommended."

The compliment bounces off me. I know I'm good, I don't need to be told, but Ephra is over four hundred miles away. Getting there could take me weeks, let alone getting back. "I expect I'll be paid well?"

He nods. "I'll double your usual rate per mile. Is that good enough?"

"Yes." I reach out for the package, but he pulls it out of my reach.

"There is... one other thing." I don't like the tone of his voice. "Given that the distance is exceptional, I thought it foolish to send you off alone."

My fur begins to prickle. "I work alone. Surely you know this."

The man shuffles awkwardly in his seat. "Yes, well... call it insurance. This package cannot go missing."

"Leave it with me and I'll get it there." I reach for the box again, but he still holds it back. "Otherwise you can count me out."

"At least meet your partner first. He should-"

The door to the man's office swings open, and in walks a wolfman. I spring to my hindpaws and growl, my tail raising up behind me; he growls back, his stance immediately hostile. The centuries-long feud between our species crackles like lightning in the air.

"Please!" the man protests. "Don't-"

"You want me to work with a- a cat?" the wolfman scoffs, his eyes locked onto mine. I can see him evaluating how much meat I'd yield should he decide to pounce, and in response I unsheath my claws.

"You two are the best couriers in the area," the man replies, speaking quickly. "I need people I can-"

The two of us speak in unison. "No."

"Fine!" He slams something else down on the desk. I tilt my head to look; it's a bag of gold coins. "I'll triple both of your rates if the package gets to Ephra in one piece, and on the condition that both of you are still alive by the end. Alright?"

We hesitate. My thoughts are churning: to work with a wolf feels like a betrayal of my very blood, but I really need the money. He must be thinking the same thing, because a kind of understanding passes between us and we both relax.

"Alright," I say. "But I don't like it,"

"Neither do I," says the wolf.

"Good! See, you already have one thing in common. Who knows, you might end up friends by the end."

I take a step forward. "Hand over the damn package." He slides it across the desk, and I pick it up with both hands. It's not heavy, and I can't hear anything rolling around inside, so I sling the pack off my shoulder and stuff it in.

"Good luck! And remember: you'll only get paid if you don't kill each other," he says, the relief audible in his voice. And with that caveat ringing in our ears, we walk out of his office.

Hello hello! I'm looking for someone to take on the role of the second courier in this fantasy prompt. I'm open to playing against any gender, hence the A, and I wrote the introduction paragraph with a male character simply for ease of comprehension. Likewise, I'm not married to the specific cat-dog dynamic, and I'm happy to hear out any other pairing of fantasy races, though I'd prefer there to be some kind of rivalry between them for narrative reasons. Players willing to play anthro characters do get priority, though - I'm a furry, what can I say ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I would like this to be quite light-hearted, so nothing too dark or grim please and thank you! Moments of darkness and drama are fine, as in any story, but the vibe I'm going for is less Elden Ring and more Dungeons and Dragons.

As you may be able to tell, I like plenty of story in my porn, so while there will be smut (and lots of it), please also be alright with building an overarching narrative as well. I can see this going in any number of directions, so feel free to pitch your own ideas - I love to collaborate with my partners to tell stories which are compelling as well as erotic.

The main dynamic I see here is the tension between our two characters starting out hating each other, but slowly growing closer and closer until we eventually realise we've fallen in love. Enemies to lovers, what's not to like? I think it could be fun if we keep having sex throughout, starting as hate-sex and gradually becoming more and more caring.

Character is key, too. I want our avatars to feel like real people - well, real anthros, at any rate - with strengths, weaknesses, prejudices, preferences, etc etc. Personalities, in other words. Roleplay is as much about role as it is about play.

I'll talk more about my kinks if we hit it off in DMs (you can find a list in the other prompt on my profile) but the main turn-on for me here is literacy. If you're a good writer then I'm all yours to play with as you wish, and if you aren't then I'm afraid you're out of luck. That said, you don't need to write long messages to get my attention; it's much more about quality than quantity. I tend to average one or two decent paragraphs per message, but I'm extremely flexible. If you've read this, include the word "Strand" in your message somewhere - bonus points if you can tell me why I've chosen that word!

One final thing: I see this going long term, so I hope that's alright with you. I won't always be around to message immediately, but I won't ghost you - if I need/want to stop, I'll let you know. I would ask for the same courtesy from you.
