[Prompt] You've always had a close relationship with your handsome father and never understood why your mother never appreciated everything he did for the family in providing for all of you. Things changed after you turned 18, he seemed to grow distant with moments of deep affection here and there: a hand lingering on your shoulder or a hug that felt a little too tight.

One day, your parents went on a special trip your father planned for their anniversary and wasn't supposed to be back for another week or so. You've been enjoying the house to yourself in whatever way you wished but are shocked to hear the front door slam and coming down to check it out. You see him with his head in his hands, his breathing is raggedy and uneven. This reminds you of every time they've fought and figure your mother won't be back for awhile. Maybe now it's your time to comfort him.
