Tim and Lucy were the ideal office couple. Young, well-liked, and very much in love. They were dating since college and had recently gotten engaged. They were at the point in their relationship where they were finishing each other's sandwiches. Wait...that's not right. Lucky finished Tim's sentences. Tim...well he tried.

Every Friday night, Tim had a poker game at their apartment with two other guys from the office and a few of his high school friends. Sometimes these games got pretty competitive, and tonight was one of those nights. The high school friends were the first to bow out. Then Karl. Finally, it was just Tim and Jason.

"I raise...$13k." Jason said after taking a look at his online bank statement.
"I'm all in..." Tim complained.
"You gotta put something in the pot."
"Fine...I bet Lucy for 4 weeks."
"Hey!" Lucy objected. "You can't just bet me!"
Tim pulled Lucy onto his lap. "I can't loose," he whispered in her ear, showing her a full house, aces full of 8's.
Lucy had a sinking feeling in her gut. "Okay," she reluctantly agreed.
The men negotiated. Jason couldn't do anything illegal, nobody at work could know about the bet, and Lucy had to go with Jason and stay with him for the next 28 days.
"Alright. I accept." Jason agreed.
Tim threw down his cards. "Read 'em and weep."
"Bet you wish you had this." Jason showed Tim the ace of clubs. Followed by the king, queen, jack, and ten, a royal flush.

Tim and Lucy would have had a big fight that night, but per the terms of their agreement, Lucy had to go home with Jason. She packed a suitcase and followed Jason to his one bedroom apartment in her car.

I guess gambling plots are in vogue. I'd like to add a gender swap to the mix, so I'd be playing Lucy and partner would be playing Tim.

I think this would be best as a slow burn, after all, they have to work together still and both work with Tim.
