It had been a few weeks since the breakup, and you were still feeling pretty raw and upset about it, making it hard to adjust back to single life, the pain hanging over you like a thick fog. Your girlfriends had noticed you struggling, and one of them suggested the new spa in town, assuring you that a day of relaxation and pampering would do wonders for you.

It took a little while to get the energy to finally stop into the Oasis Spa, but once you did, it was clear your friend wasn’t lying; everything seemed clean, fresh, and designed for relaxation, and as you stepped out of the dressing rooms in nothing but a white towel, you couldn’t wait to be pampered and treated exactly how you deserved. The concierge recommended starting with a long steam in the sauna, and as you slipped into the door, a thick billow of steam greeted your soft skin, making it hard to see as you stepped forward slowly. After gaining your bearings and moving towards the benches against the wall, you noticed that you weren’t alone. A figure sat resting against the wall, his head down as his bare upper body absorbed the steam, with only a white towel around his waist. He lifted his head slowly when the door opened, gazing through the steam at you as you moved closer. You could practically feel his eyes staring at you, as a playful smile spread across his lips. You could feel yourself blushing a bit, remembering your single life where you turned heads regularly. It felt strange to accept attention from a guy who wasn’t your boyfriend, but it was such a welcome surprise to know you could still hold the attention of a handsome stranger. Holding his gaze, you took a seat across from him, underneath one of the warm lights that framed your body in steam, staring back at the stranger with a smile of your own, each of you sitting in silence, waiting for the other to make the first move…
