I'd never been honest with anyone about who I was, even myself. I lied about wanting attention from boys. I pretended to want to go on dates with them and blushed and stuttered whenever my mom talked about me getting a husband. I wanted to be like the other girls in my town and our church - modest and respectable, but still about to have fun around boys.
But nothing I did or said or thought changed who I really was, even if I kept her locked up. Ans when I went away to college I thought I'd be keeping it that way. But when my boxes were moved into my dorm and my parents got on the road back to Nebraska, something immediately felt different.
And when I met you for the first time, things felt REALLY different. We'd been matched up by the roommate pairing software and texted over the summer, but we were still relative strangers. You were from a big city on the East Coast, and you had every ounce of cool that went along with that.
It had taken a few months, but I'd finally told you what was inside me. That I liked girls the way my parents thought I should like boys, but had no clue what to do about it. You'd been the absolute sweetest about it, and talked me thought what your coming out had been like. Then we'd cuddled for a while, platonically.
But things hadn't stayed platonic. I had a huge crush on you, and you thought my whole "innocent farmgirl" thing was very cute. We weren't dating, but we were more than just friends or roommates. Behind closed doors we had started an intimate relationship, one that was teaching me more than I'd ever known about my own body. You were starting to introduce me to a queer community on campus, and I felt ready to be a part of it. I had no idea what I'd ever say to my parents about all of this, but I was going to enjoy it while it still felt so perfect.
Hi! Today I'm looking for a female partner to write a cute, queer love story with me! My character is a farm girl from the Midwest who's just started coming out to her friends in college. She's in sort of a pre-relationship with her roommate, who's been out and proud for a long time.
I want to keep this story cute and sweet, and am looking for a partner who can match how much I write! Let's talk about our characters and the world they live in before we start, no need to jump right in!
