Slave of Slade

It had been years since the infamous Judas Contract incident, a tragedy of colossal proportions that had tested the bonds of the Teen Titans, and almost torn them asunder. Deathstroke had struck at the very heart of the team, using one of their own members to lay seeds of distrust and dissension, and it had only been through sheer force of will that the Titans had been able to pull together and defeat the master manipulator and his puppet. Even all these years later, the wound caused by the betrayal of Terra had not entirely healed.

But things had gradually gotten better.

The Titans as an institution had grown, with Titans Tower now being a safe haven for a whole host of young heroes who were looking for safety, comfort, and mentorship. The original members of the team were older, wiser, and more experienced, having tackled world-ending threats more times than any of them could count. Their bond was stronger too, and they doubted that anyone would be able to challenge them quite a much as their old nemesis.

But Slade was still out there. Laying in wait. Biding his time. Looking for the ideal opportunity to strike.

An opportunity that had just arrived.

Donna Troy was like a den mother to the Titans, or an older sister, who each of them had known since they were very young. She was sturdy, reliable, and always willing to lend an ear to their troubles, or a comforting embrace. Wonder Woman had taught her the art of compassion and empathy, and those were skills that she employed every day - the glue that held the Titans together in their firm bond.

Or at least - she had been.

After a chance encounter with Deathstroke, and the employment of some tech that had been lifted from the Mad Hatter of Gotham City, Donna was starting to see the world in an entirely new light. Whatever light Deathstroke decided to cast.

Brought to her knees, Donna now had Slade whispering in her ear willing to do anything that her Master commanded. Would she ruin her own reputation, and tank the Titans along with her? Would she use her closeness to the Titans and the affection they held for her to pit them against each other? None of it was her choice. She was just a puppet dancing upon another man’s strings, and Slade very much intended to use his new Amazon pet to her full potential.

It should come as a surprise to nobody, that in a world where aliens invaded the planet every other week, Superheroes were a hot commodity. Everyone was always talking about them, the news plastered their faces on every broadcast, and they were so ingrained in the public zeitgeist that there was little that could rival their cultural relevance. It should be even less of a surprise therefore that that hot commodity had a marketing potential that was astronomical, with every kid wanting a Superman Lunchbox, every teenage girl owning an ‘I <3 Wonder Woman’ T-shirt, and even grown men sneaking Batman boxer-shorts under their otherwise respectable business suits. Companies got rich off merchandising Superhero memorabilia, and every time a Superhero willingly gave an interview to a news outlet, their ratings would sky rocket overnight.

It was a sweet gig.

An easy gig.

And the only major sector of American commerce of which LexCorp did not have a single piece of the pie.

It wasn’t for lack of trying. Despite his distrust for the Man of Steel, Lex Luthor would’ve been more than happy to plaster his symbol on t-shirts and mugs if it made his a quick buck, yet every time he attempted to get in on the superhero game, the lawyers of the Justice League would slap him was a cease and desist.

The Justice League had lawyers!?!?!

It was ridiculous!

Of course, the JLA could only prohibit him from selling that which they owned, and whilst the Justice League might have been the only major superhero game in town at the moment, nothing dictated that it had to be that way forever.

Lex had dabbled in creating Superheroes before. Project Cadmus had given the world a number of interesting experiments, but each of them had ended in disappointment for the billionaire. This time he would not be so crass as to create his heroes from scratch. He would simply commandeer those that already existed.

Batgirl, Supergirl, Wonder Girl. His own trinity. LexCorp knock-offs close enough to the originals that he’d even bring over some of the JLA’s existing popularity. Now it was obvious that these three wouldn’t start working for him willingly, however a little help from LexLabs’ new mind control division would have them singing whatever songs he wanted them to. And he had so many songs that he wanted them to sing.

The Dangerous Streets of Gotham City

Our heroine is in Gotham City, and has just had an encounter with the Mad Hatter, with the villain having used one of his mind control cards on her during the fight. The Hatter himself has been driven off by the GCPD, however during the scuffle and all of the commotion, the heroine ends up separated from everything else, out in the streets of Gotham with the card still tucked behind her ear. She's in an incredibly suggestible and submissive state, in which she'll happily do anything she's told, and that's taken advantage of by the denizens of Gotham that encounter her during the night.

What fate will await her? Does she run into the Joker, who attempts to turn her into a new Harley Quinn? Is it the Penguin who makes her dance at the Iceberg Lounge? Or Riddler who dumbs her down into a stupid bimbo so she could never intellectually challenge him again? Perhaps it's one of the lesser rogues like Calendar Man, Killer Moth or Condiment King who want to provide the ultimate humiliation by abusing their control over someone who has so easily beaten them in the past. It doesn't even have to be a costumed crook: a rogue GCPD officer who wants to take out some frustration on the heroes for always ruining his crime scenes? A mobster whose only just gotten out of the hospital after our heroine broke three of his ribs last month? A pimp looking for some new merchandise. I'm open to so many scenes, and I'd love to try cycling through a few of them, as our heroine is claimed by a new owner, then through circumstance lost again, and ends up in the clutches of another.
