“Take care hun, I’ll see you soon,” Veronica reassured her daughter who said she was boarding the flight now.

She hung up the phone and sat there against the couch as she looked out at the city skyline from the tall sleek windows of the highrise apartment. It was a beautiful evening, and the skyline had gotten prettier over the years. Thanks to the city being a crown jewel on advancements and technology, it was no wonder why it was getting more ambitious and turning into quite the utopia by daytime. Veronica smiled as she sipped her tea and took pride, knowing this was partially the culmination of her hard work. Her years of effort had culminated in protecting the city against crime, and her dedication to her day job was also a big help.

Veronica Vespa was an ordinary woman who studied through university at Summit Academy. As a bit of an entomologist, she studied insects and ended up accidentally stung by a genetically modified Wasp, leaving her with the impressive powers of flight and she can really put the STING! in Crooks anywhere. She put her daughter through the same school she did her research in - Summit Academy. Over the Years she proudly defended her city but the villains who come and go are no joke. The new upstarts who take to villainy these days are younger and sparkier than her. While Veronica prides herself in fighting crime, she also can't deny that she hates how these younger, healthier villains are giving her a harder time. This is especially troublesome when a new rival comes in and makes her life difficult out there. She doesn't know who this "Hornette" is, but she really wants to bring her to justice.

Being divorced due to being unable to balance her life well between work as a hero and scientist, she has quite the busy schedule. She wouldn’t get time to relax since justice never rested. As she walked through the penthouse with modern decor, she went to the dead end at the edge of the corridor, where she made a secret entrance to a room she hid. Looking around as was her force of habit, she pulled a picture frame from the wall and opened the wall panel behind it, revealing a keypad. After pushing in the code, the wall loosened and opened up to her. Stepping inside, Veronica began to tie her shoulder-length hair up as she entered the admittedly cramped area where she had her workout gear and her hero costume, along with a makeshift workshop.

Tonight would no doubt be the night her adversary would strike, so it would be best to get out and patrol early. Little did she know, she constantly ran circles around her villain, and the other did as well since the two of them knew each other behind the masks.
