As of today, we've blown past the 5k member mark, with 50 new subscribers so far just today! We're seeing 10-20k page views per month, and 4-6k unique users every month, and the numbers keep growing!
Two years ago this sub didn't exist, and fans of digital table top games on Reddit had to dig through /r/boardgames for information on what games we could play. I created the sub because I wanted to talk more about digital board games; what designs people wanted to see, and where the industry might be moving next. But the mods at /r/boardgames wanted to keep the discussion there centered around physical games (or approved digital ports), which is fine; not everyone cares about digital games, after all. But I cared, and I wanted to talk about games that didn't (or couldn't!) have a paper variant! And I wanted to talk about them on my favorite community site, Reddit!
Creating a new sub turned out to be easy, but initially it was a lot of work to keep it up to date. For the first few weeks, I posted almost every story to /r/digitaltabletop -- from blogs and announcements in the DTT community. But then, slowly, other members stepped up and started adding content.
As I write this, we have 5,029 members, and with regular updates from our members, I only make the occasional post. By the time I've learned about a new DTT development, it's typically already been posted here. You guys are awesome!
I'm looking forward to watching as the selection of digital games explodes over the next few years (including on Android, I predict/hope! ;), and I'm looking forward to hearing about every new game right here.
Here's to the next two years of growth of our vibrant community! Game on!
