Somehow I had never run across the Vassal Engine before now. From their site:
What is Vassal?
Vassal is a game engine for building and playing online adaptations of board games and card games. Play live on the Internet or by email. Vassal runs on all platforms, and is free, open-source software.
There are hundreds of "modules" of various games available. It's all open source and free, and it looks like a great way to learn about games you don't have.
It's not new, of course, but somehow I'd never managed to hear about it (in this self-post on /r/boardgames), so I wanted to share in case others hadn't seen it before.
