Is Merida a good city to settle down for 3-5 months (I am a U.S citizen and a fluent spanish speaker) and work remotely?

Post Body
I have several straight forward questions, I am 25 y/o Male and I am recently single, looking to get away and work somewhere far from home for a few months while I get my life in order (and save some money too).
- Is merida "safe"?
- What are good areas to get an Airbnb that is walking distance from activities (Like bars, live music, museums, cultural events, etc)
- Any norms that I should familiarize myself with? (I am from Puerto Rico, but I am well aware that even within Latin America, different cultural norms exist and I try to respect them as best I can)
- Is this city worthwhile for someone who is looking for what I want?
- How is the dating scene over there?
- How is the Expat community?
- Is the wifi/internet there ideal for remote working?
- Is $2500 per month enough to live comfortable? (it likely will be closer to $1400 the first month, I'll be there with about $3-4k in my war chest)
- What else should I know?
- Also, how do I convert my USD to the Mexican currency?? This will be my first time abroad, so excuse my implied ignorance.
Thanks in advance, I hope to see many responses, this is an urgent matter for me :)
